Christian Heroes: Then and Now Series William Carey "Obliged to Go" by Janet and Geoff Benge

William Carey lived from 1761-1834 and is often known as “the father of modern missions”. His daring adventures from England to India show his dedication to God and love for His people.
This story directly affected my family 150 years after the events in William’s life. My sister felt God calling her to Bangladesh and now she has been teaching at the William Carey Academy for more than 15 years. After reading this book I was excited to think what God has planned for those who are faithful.

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

In the heart of the CCS North Campus library is a novel set during the 1930’s Depression in the fictitious town of Maycomb, Alabama. Maycomb was an old, dusty, poor town, where very little happened to interrupt the quiet life of its population. Quiet, that is, until an unspeakable crime takes place that sets this little town “on its ear.”

Understanding the Times by David A.Noebel

Understanding the Times is a giant of a book all about worldviews. It looks very intimidating because of its size (800+ pgs.), but is well worth the investment of time. This is a book for study and so can be taken in chapters or sections at a time. The value of this book is found in a deeper respect for biblical truth, insights into the viewpoints that oppose Biblical Christian values, and tools for defending one’s faith in the midst of so many current controversial issues.
A challenging and beneficial book!
