Coffee House Ministry at the Center

Check the Center Calendar, located at www.champion.org/calendar to look for our next coffee house.  We typically run coffee houses on the first Friday of the month on selected months.  The Calendar is the best way to know the next event in which we will have Christian music performed by local artists!

The Mission of the Coffee House at the Center: 

          Thank you for your interest in our irregular monthly community coffeehouse events at the Center!  We have tried to combine our love for music and our love for Christ to create a relaxed, encouraging environment for musicians and artists  of all ages and experience levels to come together and perform Christian music for the surrounding community.  Whether you have a worship team looking to practice new music and develop as group, you are a solo act learning to play, you have a band that has been around for a while, or you have another kind of Christian artistic expression to share, our goal is to provide a space where everyone can use their talents and glorify God while uplifting the local Christian community.

        Logistically, we try to make the playing experience as straightforward as possible and provide a "plug and play" atmosphere where musicians can come and just enjoy playing instead of having to bring equipment.  We have an 18 channel Allan & Heath Digital board to run all sound through the house and a dedicated sound and professional LightShark lighting System along with a great team to create a good mix for the performers and crowd.  The stage is 40' x 20' and will accommodate full bands or individual artists.  We provide a basic set of instruments from a full drum kit, Electronic Clavinova, Grand Piano, Guitar and Instrument Amps, direct plug ins with monitors and a full set of complimentary equipment and operators on stage to help with setup, sound checks and operations.  Amps, chords, stands, and wireless mics are all available to make things as easy as possible for the performers so we can all just show up and enjoy the music!

     Our mission for this program is to fill a gap in the area for live Christian music and provide an encouraging atmosphere for performers to have a smaller, intimate setting to play music, practice leading worship, and engage with the surrounding community.  Our hope is that these events develop into encouraging experienced musicians to share their talents, worship teams to perform together outside of a church setting, and younger musicians to become future worship leaders in their own churches.  With our new gym and performance facility and dedicated professional stage we also host larger concerts and workshops for aspiring worship leaders.

     Currently, we are running monthly coffeehouse events the first Friday of each month from 6-8pm with snacks/refreshments provided and an optional donation to offset the costs of refreshments.  Typically, we have bands perform 30-40 minute time slots while leaving 10-15 minute slots for smaller or single acts.  Thank you again for your interest in what God is doing at the Center and please reach out to anyone on our team to schedule a time to perform or to get more information by emailing us at info@champion.org or calling the Center at 724-593-9200.
