My journey with the Christian Family and Children’s Center started when my husband and I made the decision that our daughter needed a Christ Centered education. We enrolled our daughter in the preschool program here when she was 3 years old and have not looked back. I was at a time in my career that I needed a change and Champion had the opportunity that God knew I needed. I started my journey here in August 2023 and it has been the right decision for my family. I serve the Center as the Lead Teacher in EEECS and as a Support Staff.
My background is in Human Services where I graduated from Geneva College in 2016 with Cum Laude, and focuses in Psychology and Intercultural Studies. After graduation, I moved back home to this area where I grew up. I married my husband, Jason Basinger, and we have one daughter, Isabelle. We attend Light on the Hill Outreach Church, Donegal, where I serve as the Children’s Ministry Director now for over 6 years and have attended for 9 years. I previously worked at Penn Highlands Hospital, Connellsville as a caseworker, then at Penn Residential as a Program Manager, and finally the Blackburn Center as an Advocate before coming here to serve at the Christian Family and Children’s Center.
If you can’t find me at the center, my husband and I are probably flipping a coin about being somewhere in nature or at local festival. We like to go exploring on the weekends and checking out local crafters. I also have the privilege of being a gymnastics mom to my daughter. I look forward to serving the community here and being part of what the work that the Lord is doing through the Christian Family and Children's Center.
