Unit: Thanksgiving
Suggested time frame: 2 weeks
Christian Integration: Moses prayed for manna, quail and water (Exodus 15:22-27, Exodus 16: 1-35); Daniel Receives Wisdom (Daniel 2:1-23)

Snack Idea’s: Turkey cookies (sugar cookies decorated by children using candy corn, licorice, gumdrops, Edible Log Cabin (pretzel rods, graham crackers, lg shredded wheat, peanut butter) Corn muffins (have class help prepare) Apple Delight (taste different apple varieties provide caramel dip for fun)
Student Outcomes:
1. The student will recognize the importance of using words to show thankfulness.
2. The student will be able to name the three things God provided the Israelites.
3. The student will discover the historical meaning of Thanksgiving, with special emphasis on religious freedom
4. The student will examine how God helps them make good choices, like He did Daniel.
5. The student will recognize how numbers and object groups relate. (2 = OO; 5=OOOOO)
