Course Outline
Unit: God’s Creation
Suggested time frame: 3 weeks
Christian Integration: The Seven Days of Creation, Eve is created as a special helper, Adam and Eve leave the garden.
Suggested songs and finger plays: “This Little Light of Mine”, “God Made Me”, “Praise Him, Praise Him”, “He’s Got the Whole World”, “Hallelu, Hallelu”, “Rise and Shine”, “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star”, “The Countdown Song (Somewhere in Outerspace)”, “The Stars in the Sky”, “Ten Little Stars”, “God Made the World”, “Where, Oh Where Have the Astronauts Gone?” “Seven Day’s of creation” tune of 12 Day’s of Christmas)

Centers: Playdough (create the earth), Housekeeping (babies-God created all living things), Outdoor rocket ship (explore God’s Universe), Nature center (include things collected on a nature walk), Manipulatives (7 days of creation box), Sand table (sand or ground for earth and add things of creation)

Snack ideas: Moon balls, Saturn Rice Treats, Sunshine Salad, Good Earth Sundaes, Thumbprint Cookies, Gingerbread Men.
Student objectives: 1. The student will state that God existed before anything else.
2. The student will be able to name God as the creator of light, the
sky, land, water, plants, fishes, birds, animals, and man.
3. The student will be able to recite the commandment “Keep the
Sabbath day holy”.
4. The student will examine pictures and models of planets and
other celestial bodies beyond our earth.
5. The student will discover that God made them wonderfully and
uniquely.
6. The student will recognize the importance of obedience and
consequences of disobedience.
7. The student will show an appreciation of all of creation.
Suggested activities: reenact stories; pretend to be astronauts on rocket ship on playground; pantomime gardening; play charades (use picture cards); plant seeds and chart growth; root ivy cuttings; sprout a potato; sun/shadow experiments; magnets; make space mobile; make vegetable cut outs with playdough.
