Centers and Suggested Activities

Listening-provide tapes of Easter hymns and children’s musicals;

Art- spool painting; provide a cross pattern on white construction paper 3 pans of pastel paint and empty wooden spools for “stamping”/ fill in a cross pattern

Teacher Directed Learning-

Easter’s story cube: color, cut and assemble six pictures onto a cube-shaped tissue box/roll the cube/select child to tell about the picture on top

Science-decorate Styrofoam cups with Easter stickers and markers, then plant fast-growing flower seeds to illustrate new-life

Math- provide 10 plastic eggs marked with permanent numbers 1-10/ have a container of M & M’s for children to place appropriate number in each egg.

Snack Idea’s:

Easter Fruit Salad- each child can create own fruit parfaits with various fruit and whipped topping

Cross Cake- bring in prepared rectangular cake/ cut and assemble into cross/have children help frost and decorate

Student Outcomes

1. The student will be able to tell that Jesus died for their sins so they can go to Heaven

2. The student will have a beginner’s understanding of Jesus obedience to God.
