Center and Suggested Activities:

Teacher Directed- make an individual scroll for each child; provide ink and letter stamps to print their name on it

Listening- tape of a story from a child’s Bible storybook; have a Bible picture book for them to view while listening.

Blocks-build a temple using blocks or lego’s

Favorite Book Corner- have each child bring from home 2 favorite books; have an older student or parent volunteer ready to read to those who are interested

Art- provide book mark shapes for students to decorate with markers, glitter or beads for their favorite book

Snack Ideas;

Fruit Roll-Up Scrolls- use pretzel rods and fruit roll up to create a scroll

Storybook Cookies- refrigerated cookie dough; animal - shaped cutters; frosting and sprinkles

Bible Crackers -graham crackers, peanut butter or cream cheese, tube of yellow frosting; make a book from crackers and spread, then print BIBLE on front with frosting

Student Outcomes

1. The student will recognize the Bible as God’s Holy Word

2. The student will understand the importance of meeting together at church for learning.

3. The student will realize the necessity of caring for God’s House and Word.
