An Exploration of Wicca, Islam and Other World Religion
From a Biblical Perspective

GOAL
Participants will become familiar with the basic background and beliefs of some of the world's major
religions including information on their founders, key leaders, theological teachings, world views, myths,
moral principles and essential scriptures. The goal of this seminar is to be able to evaluate these beliefs
from the context of the historic Christian faith.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
In this study we will look at the world view offered by Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Satanism and Wicca.
We will gain knowledge about questions such as:
• What is the 12th Imam?
• Is Islam a Religion of Peace?
• Where did the Koran come from?
• What is Wicca?
• Is there a difference between Satanism and Witchcraft?
• In light of recent events and the upcoming season
special emphasis will be given to the teachings of Islam and Modern Witchcraft.
INSTRUCTOR
Dr. Allyn Ricketts has a Ph.D. in apologetics from WestminsterTheological Seminary and a M.Div. from
Ashland Theological Seminary. A pastor for over 25 years, Dr. Ricketts has taught numerous seminars on
modern religious movements, bringing a biblically based perspective in both university and church
settings.
CEU Credit Cost: $30, includes a box lunch
