MIDDLECREEK GOLF COURSE
RULES OF PLAY
The
general format is a four‑man scramble. U.S.G.A rules govern all play
except as modified by local rules as listed on the course scorecard and the
following list of other general rules.
1.
Each team shall consist of a maximum of four players.
2.
Each team shall select a captain prior to the beginning of play. It shall be
the responsibility of each team captain to select the shot to be played by
other team members, keep the team’s official scorecard, and monitor
compliance with the rules of play.
3.
All male players shall hit their tee shots from the white markers on the front
nine; blue markers on the back nine. All ladies and seniors (age 65 and up) shall
hit their tee shots from the designated ladies/senior tee locations.
4.
All players will hit a tee shot at each hole. A minimum of two of each team
member's tee shots shall be used during the 18‑hole round.
5.
When the team captain selects the shot to be played by the team, each team
member may place his/her ball within one club‑length of the location of
the selected shot, no nearer the hole. When the selected shot is to be played
from a hazard, rough or fringe of a green, the ball may be placed one club‑length
away, but no nearer the hole and not removed from the hazard, rough or fringe
of a green.
6.
A player may improve his/her lie by hand placing the ball or by moving it with
the head of a club.
7.
When putting, the ball must be placed within two putter‑head lengths of
the selected shot, no nearer the hole. Players should not take a second putt or
more until all players have tried the original putt. Play of the hole stops
when a putt is holed.
8.
In the event of a tie between two or more teams, the final order of finish
shall be determined using the following criteria in order:
A.
Lowest aggregate score through the last 9 holes each team played.
B.
Lowest total strokes at hole #4 including both times the hole is played.
9.
PLEASE DO YOUR PART TO KEEP PLAY MOVING.
10.
NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES PLEASE.
