Dear Business Leader,
For over 25 years the Christian Family & Children's Center has offered programs for the family such as Champion Christian School (K-12) and Preschool (ages 3-5), New Horizons Pregnancy Resource Center, and Christian Counseling Services. I’ve enclosed a brochure with more information about us. Over the years we have been thankful for the support of the business community, and especially your support.
I know you are busy and don't want to take more than a minute of your time, but there is an incredible opportunity for PA businesses that I wanted to share with you. For a minimal investment of time, businesses who qualify can take their state tax dollars and invest them in the education of local students.
Do you pay any of the following PA Taxes?
Corporate net income tax
Capital stock franchise tax
Band & trust company shares tax
Title insurance company shares tax
Insurance premiums tax
Mutual thrift institutions
NEW FOR 2008 (AS OF JULY 1)
In this year’s PA Budget that was recently passed an incredible tax credit for Businesses was extended to Subchapter S corporations and other business entities that pay their State business taxes under the personal income tax on PA business income that was previously only available to Major Corporations. This Tax Credit will allow you to re-direct funds that you would normally pay to the State in PA Business Taxes to Qualified Scholarship Organizations like the Center’s Financial Aid Program. This program has limits on the amounts of credits issues. If you are a business that falls into this category, please contact Merle at 724-593-9200 Ext 103 ASAP to find out about this new program.
If so, you qualify to apply for the PA tax credit. If you will take a few minutes to read the information included in this letter, you’ll see just how easy this tax credit program is. The bottom line? You can take real money that you are going to pay in taxes and give it to the Indian Creek Valley Christian Family and Children’s Center Children’s Tuition Fund to help a local student obtain a Christian education who otherwise could not afford it. The fund helps students who are enrolled in Champion Christian School and whose families fall below federal and state guidelines. Students from Mt. Pleasant, Connellsville, Somerset, Uniontown, Rockwood and the general mountain area benefit from the tuition fund.
Applying is easy. Businesses send the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) a one-page application for the tax credit, which is available at www.inventpa.com. If there are funds available and the company does not owe back taxes, DCED will send an approval letter to the applicant. The company then has 60 days to make its donation(s) and 90 days to send proof of the donation(s) to DCED. Al though the program may be expanded this year, it is an idea which businesses and their tax accounts find attractive for obvious reasons!

I look forward to talking to you about this incredible opportunity.
