Tuesday, January 22, 2008 will mark the 35th National March for Life. On January 22, 1973, the Supreme Court handed down its infamous twin decisions on Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton.
If you have ever been to the March, you know the spirit that's catching. You know the joy of being with people of every age, from every state, of every color and every nationality. If you have never been participated, this would be a wonderful time to come. Mark your calendar for the date.
A bus will be leaving at 6:00 A.M. from The Christian Family & Children's Center's North Campus in Donegal and return at midnight (approx.). Everyone should bring a packed lunch to eat on the bus going down, $2.20 for the metro, and money for a fast food meal coming home.
The cost for transportation is an additional $15 per person or $30 per family. Students under grade five cannot attend without a parent or specific adult designated to be with them.
This event has been taking place for the last 35 years on the anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court decision to legalize abortion. The Center has taken a group for many years without incident.
This is a peaceful march in D.C. with hundreds of thousands of people involved. The events of the day are: a rally at the Mall, a march down Constitution Avenue to the Supreme Court Building, and then an afternoon of scheduled appointments with our congressmen. It is a great opportunity to let your voice be heard in Congress,
