Soccer
Our soccer season will begin the first day of school which is August 29th. Please have permission slips signed and uploaded to iChampion by then. This year we are adding games to the schedule to gauge where our program is and move our program forward. Harr
Field is in great condition this year and the track around it is coming
along nicely. We should have it done for the school year.
GOALS OF THE TEAM ARE:
· Learn Christian sportsmanship, · Learn the game of soccer and to function as part of a team · Learn self-discipline · Learn and exhibit school spirit · Build self-esteem · Learn the importance of physical fitness.
For soccer this year we will be holding soccer practices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 - 5:00 pm. Practices will be on Harr Field at our North Campus.
Practices
will begin August 29th for conditioning and we will incorporate an
additional skills practice for students on Friday September 2nd and
Friday September 9th with Coach Fernando Mezza. Following those two
skills practices we will continue practices Monday, Tuesday and
Thursday. We are inviting students from 2nd grade through 12th grade to
participate in all practices. However, with travel or home games
we will be able to field a MS/Jr. High (5th-9th grade) team and an
Elementary Team (2nd-5th grade). This is subject to change based
on participation. Games are being scheduled now and will appear on the
blue athletic calendar at champion.org/calendar.
Our
schedule this year will reflect learning soccer in an intramural and
competitive atmosphere, and through that our coaching staff will
incorporate competitive opportunities to help our players mature into
those who love the game of soccer.
On the coaching roster this year will be, Paul Hoffmeyer, Trevor McCalmont, Ferndando Mezza, Lin Podolinsky.
We
will be participating in Marianna's Subs fund raiser this year. The
order forms are attached below and due September 21st. I will send
home a physical copy with each student however there is an order form
attached to this email as well. Parents: Please download, complete and upload three files for each player to iChampion.
