Dear High School Parents:

Based on our years of experience, we have learned a great deal about the characteristics of students who do well at Champion Christian High School. These characteristics are as follows:

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT PROFILE

1.       A desire to grow spiritually or an openness to Christian teachings.            

2.       A positive attitude which includes the following:

             A. Desire to be a part of CCS, its classes and activities.

             B. Willingness and ability to grow and learn academically.

             C. Respect for those in authority as well as other students.

3.       The ability to take responsibility for actions realizing that one is a role model for others, especially younger students.

4.       A realization that the choices one makes have consequences, and one must accept the consequences of those choices with a Christian attitude. Those consequences could include detentions, in-school suspension, attitude probation, etc.

Both the Board and the Faculty feels that the profile clearly identifies the students who will be most likely to flourish in the context of CCHS’s mission statement . . . ”Committed to academic excellence within a nurturing and distinctly Christian atmosphere.” It has been our experience that students who do not possess the above qualities not only make it difficult for CCHS to accomplish its mission, but find themselves being frustrated as well. In most cases, there is not as much at CCHS for students who do not have a relationship with the Lord, who are having problems with the authority of the school, or who just don’t want to be here.

Obviously, the adoption of this profile will affect enrollment and re-enrollment decisions. Students and parents must complete the following statements that assess their fit with Champion Christian High School. It is our belief that this process will enable students and families to evaluate honestly whether CCHS is the best choice for them educationally. This process, in turn, will allow students and faculty to more aggressively and effectively meet our goal of becoming a distinctly Christian school that provides a high quality education.
