Champion
Christian School (CCS) provides an environment in which
students can personally thrive. Our students traditionally
not only score above the national averages, but they score in the
upper 1/3 of students who are at their same ability levels.
Students generally respond well to support and attention. This
kind of focus on student preparation is a characteristic of
CCS. SAT scores of college
bound seniors from religious schools are significantly higher than
the national average as shown in the following chart.

In terms of basic academic skills,
we find that our students do better in reading and math skills as
measured by both individual student progress, and overall acheivement
scores. When you examine the scores tracked by the
National NCES scores, private school students have
consistently outperformed public school students in reading and math.

Personal faith is important in understanding life, happiness, and achieving success. Although many Christians hope that because they practice their faith at home and in church that their
child will 'get it'. That is just simply not what the research is
showing. Studies now indicate that children begin to
lose their faith in the early elementary years because of their
secular educational training (even if that training is done
in a secular school by Christian teacher who cannot significantly practice their
faith at school). A recent Cardus study
found that "attending a Protestant Christian school seems to
have impacted graduates' choice to stay within the Christian faith into adulthood (Pennings, et al. 2011)"

Many
people mistakenly believe that secular government run schools are what
is "normal". This has only been true in the last two generations
in our country. The research speaks clearly to this issue as
we know that graduates of protestant religious schools feel much less helpless about dealing with life and are much more likely to
seek a job that fits their religious and moral values (Cardus). As you
can see, school is an important factor in helping students to be able
to deal with life, but having a Christian education is the determining
factor.

Most
parents want their children to succeed, and to contribute to
the larger society of which they are a part. We know from
research that Protestant Christian school graduates give more money to
their churches and other religious causes as well as spend more
time volunteering than others do (Cardus). They also base their
morality on absolute Truths. A Christian education, makes a
difference in society as well as the lives of individual students.

Parental Satisfaction
-
Parental
satisfaction is an indication of student success, and as such,
students whose families who are connected with their school do
better than those who are not. Being connected is about having
values that are similar, not just being a part of a parent group.
Most parents who come to Champion that have not been a part of
Christian education in the past find themselves overwhelmingly pleased
with the DIFFERENCE in a Christian education. It is hard to know
what you are missing until it is too late. Parents of students in
schools that match their values and worldview tend to be more satisfied
with their school than parents in public school systems (CAPE, 2013).
