The Voice of Democracy contest is open to students in ninth through twelfth grade. Students were to write about this year’s theme, "My Role in Honoring America’s Veterans", and then audio record their presentation. Champion Christian High School students, Paul Brant(11th grade), Eric Brant(12th grade), and Kaycie Pletcher (11th grade) placed first, second and third place respectively. Presenting the monetary awards were Commander Earl Weygandt, Senior Vice Commander Russell Tikey, and Linda Tikey, Auxiliary President .

Patriot's Pen

Why I Am An American  Patriot

Donegal VFW Chapter #6743 recently hosted the ‘Patriot’s Pen’ and ‘Voice of Democracy’ contest in area schools. The Patriot’s Pen contest is open to students in sixth through eighth grade. This year’s theme was "Why I am an American Patriot". Placing third was Marcus Wingrove, a sixth grader at Champion Christian Middle School.
