Middle School Retreat
September 8th and 9th, 2011
The Middle School Fall Retreat will be held Thursday and Friday September 8th and 9th, 2011.. It is an overnight retreat at Laurel Mt. Christian Camp near Ligonier.
We will be departing from the school after arrival on Thursday morning. Please pack a lunch for your child that day. All their other meals will be provided and are included in the cost of the retreat.
Mr. Skinner (724-557-2675), Mrs. Pasquarette (724-493-4252), and Mr. Pizer (814-242-7919) will be carrying their cell phones. There are beds in the cabins, but students must bring a sleeping bag, flashlight, pillow, towels, and toiletries. We have included a reminder list of items your child may want to bring. It is a good idea to label your childs supplies and try not to send anything very valuable - like CD players, game boys or expensive cameras. Snacks are brought by the students. Please bring extra clothes in case of emergencies. Dont forget jeans and a sweatshirt since it is rather chilly in the mountains. There will be adult supervision for your child at all times. Some of the adult supervisors include Mr. Skinner, Mrs. Pasquarette, Mr. Pizer, Mr. Sprinkle, Ms. Pizer and other parents.
Parents are welcome to attend our retreat Thursday evening. You may come to supper at 5:30 P.M. and join us for worship at around 7:00 P.M. There is a four dollar fee to cover costs of the camp for parents who are joining us for the Thursday evening meal. (Overnight chaperones are excluded from this fee.)
If you would rather your child sleep at home Thursday night, you may take them from the camp between 10:15 P.M. and 11:00 P.M. Thursday night after the evening ministries are complete. Students sleeping at home Thursday night must be back at the camp at 8A.M. Friday for breakfast or at 9A.M. after breakfast.
Students will return to the school on Friday for regular dismissal.
There is a $35.00 fee to cover the cost of the meals, buildings, a ropes course, and transportation. We will need assistance preparing a meal on Thursday at supper time. If you are able to come early and assist with the meal, we would welcome your help. Please let Mrs. Pasquarette or Mr. Pizer know if you are willing to do this.
Please return the following permission slip and fee by Tuesday, September 6th, 2011.
Remember, medications such as Tylenol must be kept with your child as teachers are not permitted to administer sickness medications. Other maintenance medications may be administered by the staff with a completed medication form.
