High School Retreat

     The high school retreat this year will be on August 25th and 26th.  Students are to come to

school as usual on the bus. We will be leaving from North Campus at approximately 9:30 A.M.

Students must bring a bag lunch for the noon meal on Thursday.

    We will be staying overnight at the Mennonite Camp in Laurelville. The number of the camp is

800-839-1021. We will also have a cell phone with us and the number is 724-557-2675 for Mr.

Skinner and 724-713-5049 for Mrs. Kerin. Students may not bring their own cell phones, mp3

players, or ipods We are staying in the lodge, but students must bring sleeping bags, pillows,

and all towels and toiletries as well as a Bible and a notebook.

    We will have dinner, breakfast, and lunch for the students, and they may also bring whatever snacks

they want as well as bottled water. Please bring extra clothes and shoes, and a flashlight.

Don’t forget to bring long pants and a sweatshirt or a jacket since it can be very chilly at night in the

mountains. We will have a campfire at night if weather permits. The camp has a large gym which we will use

part of the time, especially in case of rain, so tennis shoes will be required to play in the gym.

Also, all students interested in tennis, please bring your racquets.

     We will leave the camp and return to school before the end of the day on Friday so students

will be riding their regular buses home. There is a fee of $38. This covers the cost of the rooms

at the camp, use of the gym and other facilities, food for three meals, transportation, and a

outdoor interactive class by the staff of the camp.

This is a mandatory retreat for all high school students. If parents do not want their students

to stay overnight, they may pick up their students at 10:00 P.M. and return them at 8:00 A.M. the

next morning. Fees will be adjusted accordingly. Parents are also welcome to stay at the retreat

for the same fee. If you have any questions please call Mrs. Kerin  at North Campus at extension 106.

Please sign the following permission form and mail it to school with the fee or bring to

orientation on August 18th .
